Bogoljub Karic – Before You Die Challenges to Take On

My colleague Bogoljub Karic and I were speaking last week on the subject of bucket lists and things to try before you die. Neither of us actually have a list such as this and so we decided that we would put one together for us to see if ether of us could complete before the grim reaper comes knocking. Many people go for these challenges and whilst we never know exactly when our time is up, it is nice to try and achieve something before that happens. If you are up for one of these challenges then take a look at our little list, see if you fancy joining us.

    Read The Top 100 Classics

How many classic novels have you read? The truth is that there are over 1000 novels out there which are considered as classics, but there are a couple of lists floating around of the top 100. Therefore we have made it our desire to get through these famous books such as The Great Gatsby, Madame Bovary, 1984 and many more before we shuffle off this mortal coil.

    See The Seven Wonders

The Seven Wonders of The World are as follows:

    • Taj Mahal – India
    • Petra – Jordan
    • Great Wall of China
    • Chichen Itza – Mexico
    • Colosseum – Italy
    • Christ the Redeemer – Brazil
    • Machu Picchu – Peru

We have them on our list and we will most certainly try our very best to see them before we go, as an additional extra we have also thrown in the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is one of the world’s Ancient Wonders, the only one left.

    Hundred Countries

Normally I don’t like the whole country counting thing, especially as a few days or a week inside a country is hardly enough to learn much about it. Having said that the though of traveling to 100 countries certainly has a nice ring to it which is why we plan to try and do just that, there are around 197 countries in the world depending on which list you use, the hundred is completely up to you.

    Catch the Big 5

An African safari is a real dream of mine and of course when you take such a trip everyone is aiming to catch the so called ‘big 5’. Those big 5 animals are the African elephant, the rhino, the leopard, African buffalo and of course the King of the Jungle, the lion. I’d be happy to throw in a zebra and a giraffe for good measure too.

    Lord of the Rings Marathon

The first challenge on our list is an intense couple of days in the land of Tolkien. We plan to watch all 3 extended editions of the Hobbit and then the 3 extended editions of the Lord of the Rings in one  marathon session. The total running time clocks in at 19 hours and 39 minutes, basically an entire day in Middle Earth and the Shire.

Which of these would you tackle first?
